
MEYOUdesign was set up in 2018 and is the brand name encompassing all of Matt Edwards designs including Performance, Museum and Exhibitions, Art and Craft, Site Specific Installations, “Secret Spaces” and Garden Design.
Approachable Collaboration is the Client and Viewer Focused approach. The practice ethos is to work openly and with integrity, both with the client and all related contractors.
Matt Edwards is a qualified Freelance Designer.
He studied Theatre Design at the Post-Graduate Motley Theatre Design School under Percy Harris and Alison Chitty and gained an MA in Museum and Exhibition Design from Lincoln University. His BA(Hons) was in Craft and Sculpture from Manchester Metropolitan University, where he also won a Fellowship Award to continue his studio practice. He also has a P.G.C.E. from Brighton University.
He has over fifteen years’ experience of designing for theatre set and costume design, Museum and Exhibition design, Art and Site Specific Installations, and set design for Choreography, Film and Television.
He has designed for Vanessa Redgrave, with Moving Theatre Production Company, and has been commissioned by the South Bank Centre and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London, Brunei Gallery. He created an art piece for Facebook Beach, Cannes lions Festival of Creativity 2016, working with the event company Innovision. He won Best Design for the London New Play Festival for “Underbelly” directed by Charlotte Conquest and was an Award Nominee and Finalist for the Lewes District Council “Leap Award” for Playful Places Secret Spaces: Children’s and Young Adults Environment Design (Private / Corporate and Interior / Exterior). He also has a Certificate in Building Conservation (Wood, Masonry and Plaster) from Craven College, Vector Works for Garden Design from Plumpton College and studying for RHS exams in Garden Design.
